Saving Money by Cooking

What better way to save money than to cook your own meals. Did you know that by cutting out your eating out habits, you can save as much as 20-30% of your income. Saving money starts with the little things and by cooking your own meals, you’ll be able to plan meals and make lunch instead of buying lunch. A typical meal outside can cost anywhere from $7 to $10 dollars. Multiply this by 7 and in a week, you’ll have spent close to $70 dollars. That is $70 dollars that could have gone to paying the bills.

Most people have a fear of cooking because they think about the process of cooking rather than thinking about the combination of flavors. If you add too much salt, the dish will be salty. Imagine how much a pinch of salt would taste in your mouth before throwing it in the food. You should know how each of the ingredients taste.

Keep the number of ingredients simple and short. No more than 5 ingredients when you first begin to cook. For example, spaghetti would be an ideal first meal. You have pasta, tomato sauce, garlic, onions and peppers. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
